Krema Coffee, Guildford

Krema is at the castle end of Tunsgate, just off the High Street, and it's one of the most dependable independents in Guildford. From the front it looks small, but the long, low-ceilinged room runs a surprising way back, with a snug space at the rear for sitting in.

It's a proper local: friendly staff, good cakes and pastries, and a mix of regulars and people wandering up from the castle grounds. Ben's Records is close by if you fancy a browse afterwards.

Krema has long used Horsham Coffee Roaster for both espresso and filter, and leans on local suppliers wherever it can.
